Once upon a time… I wrote a book to entertain myself. It was supposed to just be one book. Then my plan was to go back to the other series I was working on. That book was called FALLEN TOO FAR. If you’ve followed me for a long time you will know that is not what happened. The story of Rush and Blaire changed my career. Over the next four years, I would write twelve more books in that series – The Rosemary Beach Series (and then release one more 6 years later Oct 2022- Going Too Far).
Since then I have written many other series. The Field Party being the second most popular thanks to TikTok. But nothing not even The Field Party consumed me the way that the Rosemary Beach series once had. Back then all I wanted to do was write books about that world and the characters in it.
Until… March 2023 when I sat down and wrote Smokeshow. Which was also supposed to be one book to entertain me. While writing it I honestly didn’t care if anyone else liked it. I was obsessed. Other characters in the book began talking in my head and before I knew it- I was completely immersed in this world of southern wealth, racing horses, power, and the mafia… south of the Mason Dixon Line. Never in my life have I written so many books in such a short amount of time. Since March I have written six books in this series and I am currently on book seven now.
The best way I can describe it is if Yellowstone and Sons of Anarchy had a baby- you’d have the Smoke Series. The series is much darker and explicit than anything I’ve ever done. Apparently, it was there deep inside me because all I want to do is write these characters and their stories.
Smokeshow and Fireball are the first two in the series. They were going to just be two books for one couple. Yeah, that so didn’t happen. Those two books are about Blaise Hughes (the next Mafia boss when his father retires) and Madeline. It has age gap, enemies to lovers, twists, and angst for days.
Smokebomb released in June. Blaise Hughes “muscle” in the men he keeps close to him- Huck Kingston has no interest in romance. When he has to save his recently deceased younger brother’s fiancé who was in the wrong place at the wrong time he isn’t happy about feeling anything for her. Things get sordid and twisted.
Straight Fire released July 8. Gage Presley hadn’t been born into the family business like the other guys. He had become Blaise’s best friend in high school. Now, he is the unhinged, insane, weapon they use when needed. When the only girl from his past that ever had any power over him walks back into his life he’s livid. She screwed up his life and he hates the sight of her… but she doesn’t remember him at all…
Firecracker releases July 30. Trev Hughes is Blaise’s younger brother. He’s had a more laid back playboy life until recently when his father starts to require him to grow up. While he’s dealing with the dark side of their family business he meets a girl, gets obsessed with having her, only to find out she is soon to be his new stepsister.
Whiskey Smoke releases August 27 – Levi’s book- the summary is coming next week!
Smokin’ Hot– Saxon’s book- releases in September
Burn– Kye’s book- releases in October
Scorch– Liam’s book- releases in November (although this is the president of The Judgement MC, his connection to The Family will be the first of the books I will write about many of the members of The Judgement MC)
Bombshell– Micah’s book- releases in December (VP of The Judgement)
Old Flame– Tex’s book – releases in February 2024 (Member of The Judgement)
After that… who knows… Maybe I’ll write books for others in both The Family and The Judgement. Until they stop talking to me and I can write something else.
I love all of those books!
