My favorite Christmas gift of all time was when I was younger. I had always wanted to get a puppy. My parents surprised me a few days before Christmas, and we got a Labrador Retriever! He was the cutest and sweetest thing!

The best Christmas gift I got was when I was about 6/7 and is opened all of my gifts but then had the surprise if my life when there was one more hidden in the next room! A brand new bicycle! I’d never had my own, just a hand me down boys BMX from my older brother. Best Christmas ever!

My favorite Christmas gift of all time…this is so hard. Last year, my fiance proposed to me the day before Thanksgiving. He saved up like a mad man in order to get me my dream ring and totally surprised me. My favorite Christmas gift was being able to share that news with our family and friends and to be able to actually (after 8 years of dating) call him my fiance. I can’t wait to call him my husband!

So, I shared for you on both Twitter and Facebook. Sadly, I can’t really say I had a “favorite” Christmas present. My parents were both practical growing up, so most of the time I got the practical stuff, clothes, books (both my parents loved to read) both non-fiction and fiction, but never really a lot of toys.
In my later years, I was either in the Military and didn’t have a chance to “celebrate” the holidays (back before they had wonderful groups such as they do today that make sure everyone has something on Christmas (which I donate too btw!) and now I’m single again with no real friends or family (both parents deceased, no siblings.)
So, as sad as it sounds, I don’t have one…and probably never will as I don’t get gifts from anyone and I don’t have anyone to buy for.
But, Ms. Abbi, you are a wonderful person for granting those wishes yesterday. You have my utmost respect. Thank you for sharing in such a wonderful way…:D

My favorite gift of all time would be the very first camera I ever got. I used to buy disposable ones any chance I had to take photos because I loved it so much. I even entered a contest in elementary school with one of my photos from a disposable camera. My parents were blown away when I made it to the second round of entries, but that’s the farthest I went. Many years later my parents bought me a digital camera that had the smallest review screen ever and I cried when I opened it! It wasnt something i had even asked for and the thought they put into getting it for me meant so much. I had this cool new digital camera that I had no idea how to use. Lol! That memory will stay with me forever!

My favorite christmas gift of all time was when I got an iPad 2 a couple of years ago. Without that iPad, I wouldn’t have taken up reading again (which is something I used to do a lot of when I was younger) and I wouldn’t have discovered the great books by amazing authors like Abbi Glines… 🙂 That first year I had my iPad I read 1-2 books a day..(depending on how long they were and if I worked that day or not…) I kept count of how many books I had read the first 6 months..but I’ve lost count since then..but I have to imagine I’m in the 700-800 range somewhere.. 🙂 So many good books to be read!

My favorite gift on Christmas was getting a kindle from my husband. I’ve never been fortunate enough to get presents all 30 years before from my parents, so having gotten that kindle, a husband and being able to read all the wonderful stories from all the amazing authors out there, in the same year, was the best I could possibly wish for.

My favorite Christmas present is really more about the gesture because my husband hates to shop. The first Christmas after we got together but weren’t yet married he bought me a cameo set with earrings, necklace and a ring. He kept asking if I liked it because I didn’t wear them everyday but I had to explain to him they weren’t everyday type of jewelry. Cameos were extra special to my mom and she actually collected them so I have a very sweet memory from all those years ago. I still have that set in my jewelry box 25 years later. My favorite Christmas present of all time…hmmm…I love to read. I read as much as I can. Last year I would tote around my canvas bag with library books in it so I could have my stories with me anywhere. Last Christmas, my very loving and sick father decided I needed an ereader. My parents gave me a Nook Color and I cherish it. It goes everywhere with me and every time I read, I think of my dad. And I lovethat my besties and I can share ebooks, but I do miss my hard copies.

But the best Christmas gift I received was getting into foster care. It changed my life for the better, I haven’t celebrated Christmas the last three years because I live alone in Denmark and my family lives in Canada, and we can’t afford to visit each other than skyping. My very best Christmas gift was last year when my best friend had her daughter on Christmas Eve, wasn’t due until March do it was scary but Charlotte is now almost a year and is healthy and happy! My best possession that I have received was my iPod, it was the original classic and the music on it helped me through a lot of hard times. Just recently it had finally bit the bullet and I am going through extreme music withdrawal but a new one just isn’t in the budget while Christmas shopping LoL. Another favorite was the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, nothing better then the smell of books on Christmas morning LoL. I shared on Facebook! My best Christmas gift was last year. I got a new wedding set! It’s beautiful! My wedding band was stolen a few years ago. I felt too guilty for being so irresponsible that I didn’t want to spend the money on buying a new one. Last year was our ten year anniversary, so I told my husband that I wanted to new wedding band for Christmas. We couldn’t find anything that matched my engagement ring, so I got a new set!
My favourite gift was the antique piano my husband got me for Christmas last year. I’d wanted to learn to play the piano for as long as I can remember and believe it or not, the night before Christmas he got it into the house and ready so that when I came downstairs on Christmas morning, it was there … Tad dah!!! Classics as well as Costumes from newer Movies. Loved the City and just everything :).
One of this years christmaspresents arrived 2 days ago- photos of my Daddy when he was a little boy and Pictures of my Grandparents when they were young (my Daddy died when i was 1 1/2 years old, so i barely have Pictures of him. So i´m very happy to have them now) That´s also one of my favorite presents so far =)

I really love to received BOOKS for Christmas but no one has given me gift before. I really love to have all your books Ms Abbi Glines. This year has been a rough one for me but it became more bearable because I learn to LOVE READING just this past few month. It became my stress reliever, best friend and my teacher. I had never had a dog before and I instantly fell in love. I named him Pete and he has been my loyal companion ever since. Sadly, my precious Pete is now nearing the end of his journey. He is blind, deaf, and often confused. We have been giving him lots of hugs and kisses and I’ve told him that it’s ok to go to the Rainbow bridge and I’ll see him again one day. I will miss him like crazy but I know he will be there to greet me when I get there. My husband gave me a gift of 13 years of love, friendship, and loyalty all rolled up into furry goodness! }

I think that the best christmas gift of all time though I havent recieved it yet since I don’t have the money and my sister is the one supporting all of us are signed copies of your books. Its really expensive here though i really try to save up and someday when I have enough money I will go to you and bring my sister there to meet you… Your stories have inspired us both that someday we will have fairytale happy endings 🙂 especially Della’s stories since we came fro an abusive home my dad would always get angry and threaten us and books (particularly yours are the FIRST books i have ever read) and I hope you continue to write more and inspire more. You are a beautiful woman inside and out Abbi.. I hope you see this.

My favorite gift has been my tablet. It has opened doors for sooooo many excellent books. I have read so many great books that libraries don’t have. Because of Low was actually the very first book I downloaded. My friend Haley told me about you and your books at our son’s football practice one night and i wss hooked. Thanks for writing really great books. It’s exciting everytime you release a new one.
If I wanted to read a book, I had to read the books my husband had read.. not the kind I wanted to read and he would never buy me the bioks I wanted. Then in july of 2011, after 28years of looking for my friend, I found him. Now we talk everyday. But it was Christmas 2011, he gave me a nook for Christmas with a giftcard. Now I don’t have to worry about what I am going to read. I can read what I want.. I have also started to write again. Many years ago I had done this and was laughed at by my family. Now when I write I don’t listen to people, and if I need some one to read what it write, I send it to my friend who is a teacher. I was truly blest to have found him again.. . Yhis year I can’t wait to see what he comes up with..he told me he was stumped. But that was my favorite all time Christmas present

Hmmm…. I can’t say that I have one particular gift that would stand out as a favorite. I have had several gifts that are or were special to me.
My favorite gift came this year… And even though technically it was bought with my money it didn’t matter… My daughter is five and I gave her some cash for her schools holiday fair.. And she came home with a bunch of useless toys and a really cute Christmas ornament that said “mom” it was the first gift she ever picked out on her own and surprised me with. I teared up instantly. She told me she loved me and wanted to make me smile.. Through all the holiday stress she brought me back to a smile
Done. My favorite gift was a stick with pee on it! Yup! A positive pregnancy test letting me know I was going to be a mommy for the first (and unexpected) time! It happened just a couple days before Christmas… Oh what a present that was! The gift that is still giving 11 years later (And More)!

My favorite Christmas gifts are the handmade ones my grandparents made to put their grandchildren’s Christmas money in. A treasure chest filled with gold coins, a candy cane filled with ones taped together, and a needlepoint mailbox; that still hangs on my tree. Merry Christmas!

My favorite Christmas gift of all time would have to be… the books that my parents and friends gave me. I’ve started receiving books as presents since I was in 4th grade and up until now, those books are still with me and my friends keep adding to my collection. From local Filipino authors to Goosebumps, Sweet Valley, Disney Books to Nicholas Sparks, Cecelia Ahern to Chinua Achebe, Paulo Coelho to J.K. Rowlings to Jamie McGuire, Abbi Glines, Samantha Towle, (and a WHOLE LOT MORE), either I have all their books or I own at least a couple of them. <3

I have been a long term Kindler (since 2nd generation in 2009), have a fire, and 2 others. I really wanted the Paperwhite when it came out because I was going to be able to read in bed. I could not justify getting it because I had the other Kindles. On Christmas morning, I opened my gifts from Jason, and there was the Paperwhite as a surprise. I notoriously hate surprises, and he really got me good last year!!!

Come Christmas morning there were two GINORMOUS Christmas bags stuffed with ninja turtle action figures!!! My favorite gift was a beautiful snowflake necklace from my mom last year. I love gifts from my mom because she always puts thought into them because she wants me to like them. I always like her gifts though because they come from her. I have been thinking about my mom and our relationship a lot recently. My grandmother recently passed away the day before Thanksgiving. My mom told me that she was her best friend and in that moment I thought to myself that I want to spend more time with her so that we can be best friends. I love her so much.

My best gift ever is prob the gifts the kids made me at school as they were growing up. Saved a lot of them & we sometimes look back at them & have a good laugh at the silly things they wrote when they were little. We don’t exchange gifts my hubby & and I, would rather splurge on the kids. I’m a fangirl & so are my 3 daughters aka as my besties, so we really delight in concerts (their fav bands & mine),meet & greets & attending book signings of fav authors or celebrities when we can. I have the best time (and memories) w/my 3 girls & my 2 youngest have caught the reading bug from my oldest & i. Instead of watching tv they are holed up in their rooms reading! We are huge fans of all these authors (and E L james too) and a signed book from any of these talented authors would make our day!

My favorite gift was a personal karaoke machine when I was 13. I have a dream of singing, but I always felt like I needed to improve myself so I thought that a karaoke would allow me to practice to my hearts content. It had two mics and two tape decks, and a cd player and I could play music and lower the vocals so just the instrumental parts would play so I could sing over it. It was an epic gift. I would sing songs and record myself singing and then play it back to me so I could her myself and work on certain parts of that particular song. Best gift ever! I used that thing until it broke on me and that day was a sad day.

My fav Christmas present was the year my daddy surprised us and came home from being deployed. I was in 6th grade. And cabbage patch dolls were all the rage. I wanted one so bad. But you couldn’t find them. Daddy not only surprised us by coming home for Christmas but he had a cabbage patch doll for me (and my little sister). Best. Christmas. Ever!! He was only home 3 days, but he had been gone almost a year, so it was totally worth it.

Shared. The best Christmas gift i ever received was a signed copy of the tea rose. My husband sent my ratty worn copy and a new copy to the author to be signed and wrapped both for me. It was so sweet. Books are always the best gifts… Its a vacation i can take without ever having to go anywhere or pack anything for the kids.

My favorite gift was when I was seven, I got a barbie head so I could style. My mum brought it for me I had been waning it for so long. But on the day I was really sick, so my best friend decided to stay and look after me , so that was another gift I was lucky for. To have a best friend who would stay with me, even on Christmas day. She helped me unwrap all my gifts and ensemble them all together. It was Xmas day and she didn’t even moan about going home to see her presents. -Summer xo

It was last year when my sister thought me something that to be honest changed my life. What she gave me wasnt big but it was… important. Recently I became obsessed with reading and writing, something I was really embarrassed about. I became introverted and didnt go out as much, preferring to lock myself away with a good book and read. I became more withdrawn in social situations and wouldnt really contribute to the conversation instead getting lost in my daydream world. Sam got me a locket with a picture of her and me in it from a night out before my obsession took over. on the back she wrote, “never be afraid to be who YOU are not who you should be”, I’ve worn it ever since.

Let me explain a little bit I am a navy wife if almost 7 years and we are working on our 4th deployment. Well last year the command came back a couple weeks early so that they could be home for Christmas. We had no clue. Then this year my husband left a week before thanksgiving for his 4th deployment and my family decided they were going to buy me and my two boys plane tickets to our home town so we wouldn’t be alone for Christmas. My favorite Christmas gift was my laptop while my husband was deployed. It made it so much easier for me and our 3 kids to keep in touch with him! He even got to watch them open presents Christmas morning via skype.

One Christmas, when I was a little girl, there was a very special doll I wanted (called Dancerina). I told my mom I didn’t want any other presents, just that doll. We didn’t have a lot of money and that particular doll was sold out everywhere. On Christmas eve, a kind saleswoman took my mother aside and gave her that doll. My favorite gift was my Cabbage Patch kid….That’s when they first came out and was all the rage….At the time I didn’t realize everything “Santa” had to go thru to get one for me….I loved that doll and still have her to this day (i’m 38) I even remember her name…Maggie Darlene..I thought it was the coolest thing that Santa found me a doll that had my mom’s name in it. My favorite gift is my children. My son was born thanksgiving 2006( almost a month before Christmas) & my daughter was born January 26,2011( almost a month after Christmas.) I pray everyday that they live happy, healthy, long lives.

Tweeted and Shared! The best Christmas gift I’ve ever received was the necklace my childhood best friend given to me last year. Every year her family celebrates Christmas in their house that is open to everyone. I don’t usually attend their party since my house is far from it. But last year, I showed up in her house without notifying her and I was so shocked that even though I don’t usually attend, she still has a gift to me. (Yep. I wasn’t able to give her one). The necklace she gave is simple but the sentimental value of it is what makes is the best.

I was told them i wanted to write, and they gave me my laptop to help pursue my dreams. Since then I’ve started writing short stories and downloading Kindle books regularly. It has made my teenage dreams easy to reach.
My favorite Christmas gift is the new laptop that I just recently got. It’s been so much easier to work and get my blogs up to date as well as use for social networking. Gifts as adults are almost always more practical, but it has made my life easier.

My favourite Christmas gift of all time is a necklace that one of my friends from high school made me last year. Another of my friends hosts a secret santa party annually, and the necklace friend made each of the 10 of us a personalized necklace with a picture of the name of a city that holds a special place in each of our hearts in it behind a class bead. Mine is the city in which I went to university, and last year around the time of the party I was feeling particularly homesick for city and the friends I made there. I wear the necklace every day without fail, and it’s my favourite because it was such a heartfelt, personalized, one-of-a-kind gift, which in my opinion are the best kind!

I could see that there was a dog inside of it and was thinking I can’t get a new dog now, I have to go back to college and can’t take it with me. Anyways I looked in the box and there was a dog, a stuffed dog. I was a little confused, but saw the ribbon on its neck. As I looked at the ribbon I saw the ring on it. My boyfriend then asked me to marry him and I said yes. That was almost 9 years ago. We have been happily married for 7 years.

My favorite Christmas gift was when I was 4. I really wanted this baby doll. She felt like a new baby and would shake. Christmas morning Santa came to our door and delivered it to me. I was the happiest 4yr old. Of course more I know it was my uncle dressed up but at the time it ment the world to me. I still have that doll with me 22years later. She has gone with me every where in life, when I was a child I had to have several surgeries and each time the doctor let my baby go with me in the operating room. That’s my favorite Christmas.

I would have to say that my favorite gift of all time would be Christmas my senior year of high school. That year I fell in love with photography and was borrowing my momma’s camera all the time so I could document my last year of high school. That year for Christmas my dad completely surprised me by buying me a Nikon professional camera with interchangeable lenses and several boxes of film. I loved that camera with all of my heart, it made the most amazing pictures and helped me save so many memories. Unfortunately later on the shutters inside the camera became bent and the camera would no longer work. I took it to several camera stores but since we are now in the digital age it would cost more to repair it than what it is worth. Even though it is no longer functioning I keep it on a shelf in my bedroom to remind of how loving my father was that Christmas, especially since we could not really afford such a gift at that time.

So often you hear people say that they never read a book or don’t have time to etc. I would love to find a way to tell kids that reading isn’t just something you “have” to do in school or just for those kids who don’t have friends – it’s a way of escaping what ever is troubling you or letting you explore places you might never have the chance to go to in real life.

Forgot to tell you my favorite gift of all time, that was the year my best friend talked to our driver manager and got two weeks of at Christmas so that I could go home and see my family for the first time after four months of being a long haul truck driver. I got to go home, surprise the kids, spend time cuddled up watching Cars and Nemo with my youngest nephew, play computer games with my sister, read to my niece, and spend time with them.
The only thing better would have been surprising my niece this year when I found out she asked Santa for one gift but told him she really wanted only one thing. That was for me to come home and see her this year.

The best gift I’ve gotten is hard because I really love everything I’ve gotten. I can think of two that totally shocked me though. One from my boyfriend-he had an artist recreate a photo of the two us so it was drawn with colored pencils and put it in the nicest frame. The other is from my dad-he gave me a kindle. I’ve always been a reader but the first book I read on my kindle was Jamie’s Beautiful Disaster for .99 and I read it all night Christmas eve and in parts of Christmas day when we had company. It’s the moment I was introduced to indie books and I haven’t even looked back since. 🙂

My favorite present was from my mother. When I learned to drive and got my license, she gave me an angel that said “Mother’s Guardian Angel” and clipped to the visor in my car. I have had it in EVERY vehicle I’ve ever owned. It gives me a sense of security and makes me feel like she is always with me. Kind is silly, I know but as superstitious as it sounds, twice while talking on my cell or texting it has came off the visor and flicked me in the head, like my mother is scolding me! After the second time I became more aware of safe cell phone usage in my care and always have my mother in the back of my mind telling me to “drive safe”. I just love it and it’s very special to me!

Honestly, the best Christmas present I ever received was spending time with my family for the holidays, It’s only my mom and I now left in my immediate family, so I really do cherish the memories that will never leave me. He told me needed someone special to take care of the dog because he couldn’t anymore. It means a lot because it was given to me by someone who had so little and was still generous. That’s what Christmas is all about and I still have it to this day as a reminder.

When I was a kid, my mother was into something called Artex – it was basically this way to paint pictures on a stiff material with tubes of paint that had a special tip on them. I used to love it and one year she got me a bunch of pictures to paint – my favorite was of a cocker spaniel’s head.

He bought me the bracelet with a pink sparkly charm to represent our daughter and a second charm that represented a mother and daughter. It means so much to me, and since then I’ve been able to add a few more charms of things that are really important in our lives!

Shared!! My husband and I quit giving gifts to each other after we had kids. Until last yr, I had started reading a lot at th yr begore that. I was reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Did not have the money to buy the third book. Then a friend with a kindle was telling me how the ebooks were more affordable than hard back books. I had the kindle app on my phone and downloaded the book on my phone. Then I found all of these wonderful authors. I bought The Vincent Boys because it showed up at the bottom as a “recommended” book and i LOVED the cover. I have been an Abbi fan every since! Had to stop reading on my phone because my memory was full and was reading on my desk top. So last yr my hubby got me a kindle!!! I am hoping this yr he upgrades it to a fire because I am a book cover dork and love to see them in full color. Lol!!!

My favorite gift was a homemade throw pillow set my great grandmother made for me. She quilted the top and then took the quilt squares and made throw pillows. She passed away the next year and they are a reminder of her everyday!
I have received some pretty nice gifts over the years, but I’m not a material person at all!! So..I’m gonna break the rules and tell you about what was the most awesome gift I ever gave. My son was 9 years old (4 years ago) and he put a laptop on his list. It was one of those things that he ‘knew’ he wouldn’t get, but put it on the list anyway. So what did my dumb ass do? I stood in line at Walmart for 6 hours on Black Friday! It was horrible but I knew it would be worth it. Got the laptop for $150 🙂 Anyway…He finishes opening all of his gifts and is the happiest kid ever. Then I tell him I have one more and hand him the gift. He looks confused, opens it and starts to cry!! My 9 year old cried like a baby!! LOL. I would have stood in that line all over again just to get that reaction again!

My favorite Christmas gift is easily the year I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and basically lived in the hospital but my doctor let me out for a few hours on Christmas day to see my family and my Grandmother gave me a diamond cross necklace. She said angels were watching after me, and so long as I wore it they always would. I never took it off. When I lost it, she replaced and I never take this one off either. I’m always reminded of that Christmas and my grandmothers love for me.

When I was eleven years old I came home from school one day a few weeks before Christmas to find my grandmother on the couch moaning and in incredible pain. She was complaining of terrible headache and kept gripping her head and crying out. My family lived in a huge historical home in a small town where everyone knew everyone and my grandmother had been outside decorating our porch with pine boughs when she collapsed and a friend of the family brought her inside. It was unlike her to be ill, she was larger than life and never sick–to my child’s mind she was a human fortress, impregnable and forever.
My family wasn’t the kind that rushed into hospitals or rashly assumed emergencies. My mom contacted the local doctor and he met her and my grandmother at his office and within a few minutes of seeing her called the ambulance to take them to the hospital. My grandparents had been one of the founders of the volunteer fire and ambulance company so when the call came for the emergency unit my grandfather was the one to receive the call and contact the volunteers to get to the ambulance and take her to the hospital. “Emergencies” were very different back home at the time. It took time to get people to drive from their homes to the firehouse and the ambulance to travel from the firehouse to the crisis point. I often wonder why my mom didn’t just drive her to the medical center, I don’t know though.
My grandmother was diagnosed with an aneurysm and after having cranial surgery she spent five weeks in the hospital missing the holidays which we didn’t even miss without her. When she returned she had aphasia and her fine motor skills were affected; all the small things I had never considered before suddenly became very real to me. Listening to her yell out the answer on Wheel of Fortune, playing Trivial Pursuit and seeing her read or having her help me with my homework–all of that was gone now.
It was the middle of January and our tree had dropped most of it’s needles, the presents sat under it untouched, it seemed like anyone who had ever met my grandparents came to see her and wish her well but for all their sentiments they couldn’t erase the new facts that she had almost been stolen from us. Of all the things I have ever been gifted during the holidays the best thing I ever got for Christmas came that mid January when she came back home–even though nothing was ever the same again for any of us. I never opened any of the gifts that year, I don’t even know what happened to them. She was my Christmas then and every year since Christmas this remains my favorite holiday.

I shared on facebook and my most favorite Christmas gift is giving to those less fortunate. My sons and I always pick an angel off the angel tree for the Salvation Army. We go buy the little girl or boy a few of the things they want. That way it teaches my kids that Christmas is about giving not just receiving.

My favorite Christmas gift has been books from my Dad when I was eight. He never had much to give us, but at 8 years of age, I couldn’t have asked for more. It was a really touching gift that showed me he noticed my love for reading.

My favourite Christmas gift of all time is my eternity ring of my boyfriend, I’ve had it for nearly 13 years now, and after a recent near break in it, I almost cried in the shop when they said they couldn’t fix it but would try. Thankfully they fixed it, and then I had a stupid grin on my face and tried very hard to stop the tears that wanted to fall from falling all the way home.

My best and favorite all time Christmas gift was the one where my now husband suprised me with a proposal!… inside a book he cut out about 500 pages into one heart in the center laid my diamond ring, with a picture of us at the bottom as soon as I opened the book he got down one knee and proposed, I was so excited for a book gift, I never imagined what I would find inside!!… My Kindle would be second but nothing will ever beat that!…. Hopefully some personalized Abbi Glines books would be up there! 🙂

The best Christmas gift I have ever received was the gift of holding my new born daughter. After many years of trying to get pregnant we decided to just put it in Gods hand and just like that our prayers were answered. She was due in December but came a little early. She is my only child and the greatest blessing and gift I could have ever receive.
My favorite gift of all time was a box set of the Children’s version of the Classic books including Heidi, Peter Pan, Little Women, Treasure Island, Moby Dick, ect. Thats when I really fell in love with reading!

We were in a bookstore and I saw someone with a copy and when I inquired, it was the last one so I called up all the bookstores I could and all of them said that they didn’t have it anymote and I actually cried but amazingly enough, my parents were able to find me a copy. It just amazed me how much work they would go through to get me what I wanted because of how much they loved me. I was really grateful, they really made that Christmas special, they always do

The BEST Christmas gift of all time would be from 3 years ago. My 8 week old baby was at Children’s hospital, fighting for her life from meningitis. She was diagnosed right after Thanksgiving and spent 4 weeks in the hospital, 2 days past Christmas. When they told us we could take her home, THAT was the best and only gift I ever wanted. She survived and is a thriving 3 year old now – but back then, it was all I ever wished and prayed for. <3

Christmas of that same year, she was on my mind and I was thinking how sad this season would be without her. Just a few days before Christmas I received in the mail a post card from reader’s digest that my subscription would be starting soon…A gift from my grandmother! Could not believe my eyes! Evidently, prior to her death, she purchased several gift subscriptions for several family members. Her last gift to me. I will always treasure that memory!

The best Christmas gift I ever got was from my daddy. It was mine and hubby’s first Christmas and we were going to be forced to spend it apart. I flew to Texas to spend the holiday with my kids from my first marriage. On Christmas Eve afternoon right around lunch dad got a phone call and told me and mom that he had to go in due to some emergency with work. I was decorating sugar cookies with my kiddos and I looked up and my husband was standing there. I may or may not have knocked over some furniture in the process of hurling myself into his arms, but I know I burst out crying. Dad had flown him in as a Christmas present for the two of us and fibbed about the work emergency to pick hubbs up from the airport. I got to spend Christmas with my ENTIRE family that year, something that has not happened since and it is my most cherished holiday memory to date.

My favorite xmas gift was a dvd from my wedding day. It was originally on vhs and the sound no longer worked. There were tons of clips of me and my maid of honor, my best friend since we were 13. A few years after my wedding she was killed in a car accident. My parent’s took the tape to a shop where they were able to restore the sound and transfer it to dvd.

I just felt so guilty because books were pricey back then as they are now & my Dad was laid off & we had nothing. These books meant everything to me. All my friends were getting tons of gifts but I didn’t care. To this day whenever I get a book I think back to that Christmas & I treasure that day!

Done and the best present I ever had was a few years ago. Which was spending Christmas with my father and my Uncle. As I had not spent or seen my Dad for over 26 years and it was the first time spending Christmas with my Dad.

I wish they had paperbacks now though. I don’t have a kindle (WAAAAY to expensive for me) so I borrow my sisters if she will and enjoy the book for about 30 minutes before I’m done. So depressed I have to wait until summer 2014 for the paperbacks. Bummer.

My favorite Christmas present was an emerald ring my parents got me in my early 20’s. I had seen the cutest Hallmark “daughter” ornament that year. My mom bought it. Best Christmas gift if all time was two Christmas ago, my husband came home from his second tour in Afghanistan and surprised me on Christmas Eve as I walked into my families house. He was there standing in his uniform with a big bow on his head!! <3

My favorite Christmas gift thus far was probably my iPad. Being in college, it was difficult for me to read. As much as I loved reading and having physical copies of books, it was unfeasible to lug books back and forth from home to my shared dorm/apartment. My iPad revolutionized my reading experience my allowing me to have hundreds of books wherever I went, including yours! Breathe (Sea Breaze #1) was one of my first ebook purchases, if I remember correctly.

Tweeted (@B_Kimmer). My favorite Christmas gift was when my husband proposed. We, I thought, were meeting some friends for dinner a couple days before Christmas. We got seated at our table. He went outside to call them because they hadn’t arrived yet. As I’m waiting, our friends’ son walks in with a rose that had a card attached to it on which he had started writing a speech/proposal to me. After the son was a couple more friends who were followed by more friends then my parents, my brother (who is a marine so this meant a lot for this to be done when he could be there) and his family. Everyone carried a rose with them, each with the card continuing on his speech. Last was obviously him. He proposed. I said yes…how could I turn that down. Then everyone stayed and we had dinner/engagement party.

I will say my favorite present ever was probably my Kindle Fire HD that I got last year and that my 2 year old son took into the bath tub with him a few weeks ago. 🙁 Lets just say one of them didn’t make it out in the same shape they went in with. (and Yes, my son did make it- LOL). I love having all those book at my finger tips. My bank account doesn’t always agree but I love it!

Shared on Facebook. My favorite Christmas gift was given to me by my husband and my daughter. I am a huge (HUGE) San Francisco Giants Fan! In 2010 they won their first World Series in over 50 years and the first championship in San Francisco. This was something I was afraid I would never see in my lifetime so it was a huge deal in my home and for my family. So for Christmas my husband and my daughter got a pristine copy of the newspaper front page from the morning after the Giant’s win then spent the next two months going to all the stores that sold Giant’s baseball cards and got every baseball card of the Giants players, then framed and matted it all on their own! It is one of my most prized possessions and hangs on the wall of our stairs landing so every morning I can see before I start my day. It still gives me the chills even during the off season.

My favorite gift I’ve received would have to be my video camera and my digital camera I got in 2003. I was pregnant and I cried and cried. I was so happy that I would get to video everything and capture every moment with my camera. I sure have used it and wore it out. Got new ones but I have them still in my keepsake box. my son now wishes I wouldn’t take so many pictures that he calls me his personal paparazzi. I told him he will be glad that e has so many pictures to help him remember. I don’t have any pictures really so I guess that’s why I went a little crazy with taking pictures.

My favorite gift of all time is this years, my amazing husband let me choose a new DLSR camera for some weddings I’m going to shoot, Nikon D610 has joined the family. Photos are my passion and the new nikon is like my third baby.

My favorite gift of all was when my sister and I each got a baby in a basket. It was awesome. A few years ago I found one and gave it to her for Christmas.
Done!! And my greatest Christmas wish was getting to spend one more Christmas with my grandmother who was dying from Non Hodgkins lymphomia Cancer 🙁 She was a wonderful, amazing woman who taught me all the rights and wrongs in life and I am so completely and totally lost without her but I know she will always be there guiding me 🙂

I am first of all amaze that you are doing that and thank you so much for that. I have never celebrated Christmas in my whole life. I am a Muslim so being in a Muslim home you don’t celebrate Christmas but if I had a wish of Christmas I would love to have an mini iPad, signed copy of Finding Cindrella and Beautiful Wedding.

I don’t think I have an epic Christmas present .. Last year however, my boyfriend gave me a really expensive watch, and it was so damn cute of him because it had just been a remark in the passing that I liked that watch, and he had bought it without me knowing it in the right color and everything. It was so nice of him and I was really surprised! 😀

My favorite Christmas present would be a photo ornament that my Mom gave me for Christmas last year that has a picture of my Mamaw who passed away last year. When I was a kid my parents bought me a Casio keyboard, that is the last gift I remember getting that I was really excited about. I also love the gifts the kids make/get each year.

I guess my favorite Christmas gift was a promise ring from my ex-boyfriend…. an ex-boyfriend who… let me keep the ring but didn’t keep his promise to stay with me forever. Pretty funny, but I swear that ring was priceless because it reminded me of happy times of my youth regardless of the ugly breakup

When my father was sick & dieing, my parents made the trip from Ohio to Florida to visit me for the holidays. My mother surprised us by buying plane tickets, checking with his Dr. & arranging everything so they could fly down.
My fave gift so far was the Kobo that a client gave me last year — it’s still getting many many hours of use everyday.
