Misbehaving
by
Abbi Glines
An unexpected affair leads to mind-blowing harmony in this Sea Breeze novel from New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.
Jason is sick of living in his rock star brother’s shadow. So when he ships off to Sea Breeze, Alabama, he’s looking for a much deserved escape and a chance to blow off some envious steam. Falling for the local bad girl was definitely not the plan. But as the new duo enjoys some naughty fun in the Alabama sun, Jason learns that even though Jax is the musician in the family, he’s not the only brother who can rock someone’s world.
Sneak Peek:
Excerpt from Misbehaving by Abbi Glines
All I could see was lots of long blond hair dressed in tight black clothing and she was standing in the middle of the road…. holding a baseball bat. Only in Alabama did stuff like this happen. Stopping before I hit her, I watched as she ran over to the passenger side door and knocked. The wild panicked look in her eyes might have been disturbing if they weren’t a bright clear blue color with thick black lashes. I pressed the unlock button and she jerked the door open and climbed inside.
“Go! Go! Go!” She demanded. She didn’t even look my way. Her eyes were focused on something outside. I turned my attention to the side of the road where she was watching with such intensity. There was nothing… then a guy came bursting out of the woods with an angry snarl on his face and I understood. I shifted gears and took off. No wonder she was terrified. The guy was huge and looked ready to murder someone.
“OhmyGod, thank you. That was so close.” She let out in a sigh of relief and rested her head on the leather seat.
“Should I take you to the police station?” I asked glancing over at her. Had he attacked her before she’d gotten free?
“Definitely not. They’ll probably be looking for me in about ten minutes. I need you to take me to my momma’s. She’ll cover for me. Besides that’s where my truck is.”
They’d be looking for her? Her mom would cover for her? What?
“It ain’t like he’s got any proof. The only thing I dropped was the hockey mask and it was a cheapo I bought at the Goodwill a couple of Halloweens ago. Not something he can trace back to me.”
I slowed the Porsche down as her words started sinking in. I hadn’t just saved a girl from being attacked. If I understood this babbling correctly I had just become the getaway car.
“Why’re you slowing down? I need to get to my momma’s like now. She’s just two miles from here. You go up to county road thirty-four and turn right, then you take it about three fourths mile to Orange Street and take a left. She’s the third house on the right.”
Shaking my head I pulled over to the side of the road. “I’m not going any further until you tell me exactly what it is I’m helping you escape from?” I glanced down at her baseball bat tucked between her legs then up at her face. Even in the darkness I could tell she was one of those ridiculously gorgeous southern blonds. It was like they had some special ingredient to raise them like that down here.
She let out a frustrated sigh and blinked rapidly causing tears to fill her eyes. She was good. Real good. Those pretty tears were almost believable.
“It’s a really long story. By the time I explain everything we will have been caught and I’ll be spending the night in jail. Please, please, please just take me to my momma’s. We’re so close.” She pleaded. Yeah, she was a major looker. Too bad she was also bad news.
“Tell me one thing, why do you have a baseball bat?” I needed something. If she’d knocked someone unconscious back there then I couldn’t help her getaway. They could be injured or dead.
She ran her hand through her hair and grumbled. “Okay, okay fine. But understand that he deserved it.”
Shit. She had knocked someone out.
“I smashed all the windows in my exboyfriend’s truck.”
“You did what?” I couldn’t have heard her correctly. That did not happen in real life. Country songs, yes. Real life, no way.
“He’s a cheatin’ bastard. He deserved it. He hurt me so I hurt him. Now, please believe me and get me out of here.”
I laughed. I couldn’t help it. This was the funniest damn thing I’d ever heard.
“Why’re you laughing?” she asked
I shook my head and pulled back onto the road. “Because that’s not what I was expecting to hear.”
“What did you expect me to say? I’m carrying a bat.”
Glancing over at her I grinned, “I thought you’d taken someone out with the bat.”
Her eyes went wide and then she laughed. “I wouldn’t have knocked someone out with a bat! That’s crazy.”
I wanted to point out that smashing your exboyfriend’s truck windows then running through the woods in escape at night was crazy. But I didn’t. I was pretty sure she wouldn’t agree.

Oh, that’s so funny. We can already see the chemistry. The only thing I REALLY want to know: Who is the GIRL????? Is she someone new? Please, Abbi, Tell US!!!
She has been in Sea Breeze all along. You’ve seen her before and she’s caused problems… always the trouble maker.

Dear Abbie, I think that you just made me the happiest person in the WORLD!

~Jhoanna
I think i have an idea of who is she!! ,but i can’t believe it!!!
i think we think the same…
wow!!!! 🙂 🙂 can’t wait!!
is it jessica?
This is so cool that there’s a book about Jax’s brother and his love, but I would so love if Jax and Abby had another book for them like Cage does. “Breathe” is one of my favorite books and I SO hope Jax and Sadie will at least get a novella about their future life…
Rabbi, I’ve read everyone of your books and will read this one. I hope Jax and Sadie have another book. They are my favorite couple after Rush and Blaire of course! PLEASE more Jax and Sadie xoxo
Is it Priscilla? Mary Ann? Payton? Gabby???? If we guess will you please tell us!!!!???
ok if it IS jessica .. then I don’t know if I wanna be upset or happy cause the pairing is so unique .. but if it IS her then I wish she hadn’t been described as the local slut in the other books ..kinda’ breaks the mood for me.. and makes me think WHY POOR JASON .. I dont know .. Ill be waiting impatiently for this one 🙂
Someone please remind me who Jess is? I can’t seem to remember for the life of me!
If I remember correctly, Jess is Sadie’s mother. From book 1. The bum pregnant woman.
Jess is Rock’s cousin. I think she was first introduced in Because of Low.=)
I totally agree!! I really want to know more about Jax and Sadie!! Your amazing! I love all of your books!! xoxo
after reading your novels in the fallen series i have been hooked. I have never read a book that has brought a tear to my eye like yours have. Loved Blaire and rush, and then Jax and Sadie.( tears with jax and sadie too). Please dont stop writing, I cant get enough of your books.
I think its Jess too but it said in ‘Breathe’ that she had a pixie hair style which is really-really short but in this teaser she has really long hair (extensions maybe) so I don’t know. Maybe Becca Lynn from ‘While It Lasts’ but that character had brown eyes. Could be one of Amada’s friends… Wish it was out already!
Abbi please please write another book about Jax and Sadie…I albsolutely loved them..That is after Rush and Blaire..But still I think Jax and Sadie deserve another book..PLEASE!!
Yea defo more Jax and Sadie xoxo 😀
